The essence of the system is that it will allow a snagged lead to pull off the rig, thus releasing the fish from the unseen snag or weed bed so you land it rather than lose it. If you were attached to a really big carp, would you forfeit the lead to guarantee you landed the carp? The basic rule of the lead clip system is the lead must eject before the swivel pulls out. This is because if the swivel comes out first the lead will never eject, instead the line will pull back and forth through the system like a running rig leaving the lead snagged and the fish, too! Pack of 5 Korda Hybrid Running Rigs are a cross breed of the best parts of modern running rigs. The large eye of the special swivel creates very little friction greatly enhancing bite indication, the small lead link and silicone sleeve combine to form a very neat, tangle free system. Can be left on your rods minus the lead in between sessions.Running rigs offer better indication of what is happening at the rig end. When fish are picking up the rig and getting away with it, running rigs will show this more accurately. Using low-stretch monos like X-line or zero-stretch braids like Whiplash enhance the indication. This way you can shorten the hook link or make the hook bigger to turn pick-ups into runs. A running rig also acts totally differently to a semi-fixed set-up when the carp picks up the bait because the lead will always run away from the fish.
